About

Two decades of writing production software, and seven years of helping teams do it well.

I have been developing commercial software for more than 20 years. I started in 2005 as a freelance developer, then worked as a programmer on client projects and a browser-based game, and later as a technical director responsible for a mobile application's API, its server infrastructure and the coordination of iOS and Android development.

For the past 11 years I have worked at AUTODOC SE, a German company, where I lead a software development team. In that role, hands-on engineering and leadership go together: making technical decisions, coordinating the team's work and staying close enough to the code to understand the trade-offs behind it.
